We're Here to Listen
Our experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. We treat a number of mental health disorders and provide assistance to individuals and families.
I strive to provide effective care that is directed at the individual's personal needs. This includes treatment which has a solid basis in research, particularly in cognitive-behavioral interventions.
As a practicing psychologist for more than 30 years I have gained experience treating and evaluating adults and children who experience a variety of personal difficulties.
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia. After completing my B.A. in psychology from Whittier College I then obtained my M.A. in clinical psychology from the University of Dayton. I obtained my Ed.D. (Doctor of Education) in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee. At the University of Houston Counseling and Testing Service I completed a 2000-hour internship in clinical/counseling psychology. Following this training I served as a staff psychologist at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Counseling Center. After moving to Athens in 1982 I was the staff psychologist at the Family Counseling Service. From there I began my private practice and have been doing this ever since. Because of my specialties I have presented numerous workshops on sexual abuse and child custody to mental health professionals, lawyers, and judges.
